Precious Blood

Summer GrottkeBlog

We have all seen our local blood banks parked outside various establishments. They are prepared and waiting to receive donations. They are anticipating that people will step forward and willingly offer to contribute. The blood bank knows that there are people who understand the power of donating blood. Lives are saved because individuals step forward and give.

I cannot help but think about the greatest blood donor that stepped forward and gave every once of His life source. My heart is overwhelmed when I consider the significance of the blood that was freely given for each of us.

We all come from different walks of life and each of us have a different testimony to share with the world around us. We walk in authority and freedom because of the tremendous grace of God. We can enjoy liberty because of the donation that made for us.   1 Peter 1:19 (AMP) defines it this way “ but [you were actually purchased] with precious blood, like that of a [sacrificial] lamb unblemished and spotless, the priceless blood of Christ.”  The spotless, priceless blood of Christ. It takes my breath away when I consider the price that was paid for my soul.

Ephesians 2: 13 talks about how we have been united with Christ Jesus and how we were once far away but that we have been brought near him through his blood.   I am so grateful that nothing can separate us from the love of God.  I want to always bring to remembrance what my life would be like if the redeeming, cleansing, powerful blood of the Lamb had not been applied to my dirty, sinful soul!
